The Duluth, Minnesota Parkinson’s support group was formed several years ago and met in several places (a living facility, gym, restaurants, etc.) as it has grown. Over time, participants and care partners have increased. Over 60 people recently attended a group meeting at Essentia-Hermantown YMCA – and the numbers are steadily growing. The main Duluth Area Parkinson’s group meets the third Monday of each month during the day. The Young Onset Parkinson’s (YOPD) group meets the third Monday of each month in the evening. Please refer to the calendar for information.

Parkinson’s is generally thought of as a disease affecting older individuals. With many neurological/movement disorders, the early age onset (YOPD) of Parkinson’s has left individuals to struggle for resources — as many programs are scheduled during the work day. This site has two purposes – to provide credible resources and to also connect all to activities & events offered during day and evening hours.
Please learn more about resources available on the Resource Page and activities on the Calendar section. (Click on the Calendar date for further details on specific scheduled activities.) Parkinson’s is not a journey chosen – but the path we are on together. You are not alone. Stay Strong. Be Loud. Fight Back.
